GLC also has a complete pattern shop, allowing us to offer specialized engineering services like pattern design and dimensional layouts. Great Lakes Castings is also one of the few high production domestic foundries to have a fully equipped laboratory capable of metallurgical, chemical, physical and material code specifications.

We use Hunter, Roberts Sinto, and Disa automatic green sand molding systems within our process capabilities, allowing us to offer other services including shell core, cold box, heat–treat capabilities, and annealing.

As a leading high-production domestic foundry, GLC provides castings in weights ranging from a few ounces up to fifty pounds. Our castings are all in the gray iron classes 18-35, with a base iron tensile of 30,000. We have the capacity to produce 55,000 tons of specialty castings per year and a metal charging capacity of 72,600 tons per year.
